The screw conveyor sand washer is designed to treat water by separating sand through the decanting method. It is used in wastewater treatment plants, paper mills, chemical industries, industrial slaughterhouses, concrete factories, among others.
The equipment is delivered complete, including supporting structures, and ready for operation.
It is made entirely from AISI-304 stainless steel. As an option, elements such as screw flights or the supporting structure can be made from carbon steel.
It consists of a water decantation tank where the material is deposited, and a screw conveyor that extracts the sedimented materials, as well as supporting structures to enable installation on site:
- TANK FOR DEPOSITION OF MATERIAL AND LIQUID EXTRACTION
This is the decantation tank. The material comes in through the top inlet and the liquids are discarded through a side outlet, both with a DIN2501 standardised loose flange.
A system of internal deflectors favours the deposition of the solid materials with the highest density on the bottom and, therefore, separates them from the water.
- SCREW CONVEYOR FOR THE EXTRACTION OF SOLID MATERIALS
• The solid materials deposited at the bottom of the tank are extracted with the screw conveyor, which runs at a reduced speed. The solid materials are taken to the top of the conveyor, where they are discarded through a rectangular outlet.
The screw is shaftless and has thick ribbon flights. It slowly rotates on a high-density, low-friction polyethylene lining installed at the bottom of the housing, which favours product dragging and its silent operation.
- STRUCTURE AND SUPPORTING ELEMENTS
The equipment is provided with 2 supporting structures than can be screwed to the floor. These structures can be manufactured in both stainless and carbon steel.
